Nina Intelligent Virtual Assistant Recognized for Transforming Mobile Customer Service
BURLINGTON, Mass., – February 12, 2013 – Nuance Communications, Inc., today announced that it has been named a finalist in the seventh annual Stevie® Awards for Sales and Customer Service Technology Partner of the Year. Nuance is one of only a handful of finalists from more than 1100 companies nominated, and was recognized for Nina Mobile, the intelligent virtual assistant that is transforming the way enterprises can deliver mobile customer service.
Launched in August 2012, Nina Mobile is a cloud-based virtual assistant platform that provides enterprise organizations with the ability to add virtual assistant capabilities to existing Apple iOS and Google Android mobile applications. Nina combines Nuance speech recognition, Text-to-Speech (TTS), voice biometrics, and Natural Language Understanding (NLU) technology to deliver an interactive user experience that not only understands what is said, but also can identify who is saying it. Companies such as USAA, the leading insurance and financial services provider to U.S. military members and their families, are using Nina to enable speech-based and human-like interactions with the mobile app, greatly enhancing the self-service experience for their customers.
“We are honored to be selected as a finalist in the Customer Service Solutions Technology Partner category in this year’s Stevie Awards,” said Robert Weideman, executive vice president and general manager for the Nuance Enterprise Division. “This latest accolade underscores the growing consumer demand for intelligent, conversational self-service solutions such as Nina in today’s automated customer service environments. It also validates Nuance’s leadership position in delivering compelling customer experiences around the globe.”
This year’s Stevie finalists were determined by preliminary judges comprised of 120 professional experts worldwide. More than 100 members of several specialized judging committees will determine the Stevie Award winners from among the finalists and results will be announced during a gala banquet on Monday, February 25, 2013, at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Many of our preliminary judges have commented about the high quality of the entries the competition received this year,” said Michael Gallagher, president and founder of the Stevie Awards. “Our final judges will have a challenging but rewarding task to determine the Gold, Silver and Bronze placements.”
