In celebration of Super Bowl XLVII, New Orleans youth receive new Lenovo computers
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C.– January 31, 2012: Local children who attend the New Orleans Youth Education Town (YET) were all smiles as they received new computers from Lenovo(HKSE: 992) (ADR: LNVGY), for their technology room.  In celebration of the upcoming Super Bowl XLVII, the NFL and Lenovo, the official computer sponsor of the NFL, teamed up to surprise the local YET with this technology upgrade.

Lenovo’s computer donation replaced the outdated workstations in the YET center’s computer lab, and provided new machines for the staff to automate paper processes, track student activities and increase productivity.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled and appreciative to have Lenovo donate the much needed hardware upgrade for the kids of the New Orleans YET,” said Darrell Guy, Sr., New Orleans YET director.  This generous donation will help our YET team to enhance our children’s experience during their time spent here, as we continue to provide a safe place for children to learn and grow.”

On their Lenovo All-In-One Desktop computers, the children who might not have PCs at home or access to the internet, will now be able to do homework, research various topics for their school projects and broaden their horizons.

In addition to the technology donation, the children of the New Orleans YET were treated to a special USA Football clinic where they learned about the fundamentals of flag football alongside NFL players.

This special event included appearances from New Orleans Saints players Nich Eason, Akiem Hicks, Cameron Jordan and Michael Lewis; St. Louis Rams player Rodger Saffold; and former NFL players Tyrone Hughes and Clarence Verdin.

SAP NEWSBYTE - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced two new No. 1 results on the SAP Sales and Distribution (SD) standard application benchmark for SAP Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE). SAP Sybase ASE recorded the top two-processor result running on the Cisco UCS B200 M3 server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.3, together with enhancement package 5 for the SAP ERP 6.0 application1. It also achieved the No. 1 four-processor Linux result running on the Fujitsu PRIMERGY RX500 S7 server with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP2 and enhancement package 5 for SAP ERP 6.02.
The result certified on the Cisco server achieved 6,530 SAP SD benchmark users and 35,680 SAPS. This announcement comes on the heels of the first pilot production commitment in December, which greenlit six comedy pilots, bringing the total number of Amazon Studios pilots currently in production to 11.

Once completed, all 11 pilots will be posted on Amazon Instant Video, Prime Instant Video, Lovefilm UK and Lovefilm Germany for Amazon customers to watch for free. Viewer feedback will help determine which series Amazon Studios should produce.

Flexible, easy-to-use and end-user-oriented dynamic ticketing is critical for all sports clubs, stadiums and entertainment franchises to win and retain customers. Davis, executive vice president and chief financial officer (CFO), will be departing the company effective March 8, 2013.  The company expects to name a successor in the coming weeks after a review of both internal and external candidates.  Davis will be taking up the position of CFO for Qualcomm Incorporated.

Bill Keitel to Retire as Qualcomm Chief Financial Officer, George Davis to Replace

 – January 30, 2013 – Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced that William (Bill) Keitel has decided to retire as Qualcomm executive vice president and chief financial officer. George S. Davis, currently executive vice president and chief financial officer of Applied Materials, Inc., will replace Mr. Keitel effective March 11, 2013. Keitel will continue as chief financial officer until that time, and will then assist with the transition and serve as special advisor to the CEO for the remainder of the calendar year. Davis will report to Paul Jacobs, chairman and chief executive officer of Qualcomm.
Davis is a seasoned financial executive having served as a chief financial officer for more than six years. During his nearly 13-year tenure with Applied Materials, Davis held several leadership roles including corporate treasurer and head of the Corporate Business Development group, where he was responsible for merger and acquisition activities, strategic planning, and management of the Company's venture investments. In addition to his finance and business development oversight, George also had responsibility for the company’s activities in information technology, government affairs and corporate relations.
Davis received his bachelor’s degree in economics and political science from Claremont McKenna College and his master of business administration degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. He is also a member of The Wall Street Journal CFO Network, The Conference Board Council of Financial Executives, The Applied Materials Foundation board and was a longstanding member of the board of trustees for the San Jose Repertory Theatre.

The 20nm portfolio builds upon Xilinx breakthroughs proven at 28nm to provide an extra generation of system performance, lower power and programmable system integration. The 20nm portfolio will address a wide range of next generation systems and provides the most compelling programmable alternative ever to ASICs and ASSPs.

DALLAS, Jan. 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NASDAQ: TXN) today introduced an octal, 12-bit, 100-MSPS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) that provides the lowest power consumption in its class. The ADS5295 uses less than 80 mW per channel, which diminishes board heat and power dissipation in higher-channel-density applications. It incorporates TI's unique digital processing block, which combines commonly used digital functions to help improve signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) and filter harmonics while reducing output data rate for narrow-band applications. The ADS5295 can be used in phase-array architecture systems with higher channel counts, such as ultrasound, security x-ray and non-destructive testing (NDT) applications. Key features and benefits of the ADS5295
  • Lowest power per channel for the speed, with low noise: Using only 80 mW-per-channel at 100 MSPS and eight channels, it enables designers to increase channel count without increasing power dissipation high-density applications, while still achieving a low noise of 71 decibel full scale (dBFS) SNR.
  • Reduced system cost and complexity: TI's highly integrated digital processing block integrates commonly used digital functions, such as a low-frequency noise suppression mode, digital filtering options and programmable mapping of low-voltage differential signaling (LVDS) output pins. This lowers FPGA cost and simplifies LVDS output routing, reducing the number of printed circuit board (PCB) layers and bill of materials cost.
  • Reduced interface lines: Outputs data over one or two wires of LVDS pins per channel, reducing the number of interface lines. This creates a two-wire interface, which keeps the serial data rate low to further reduce FPGA cost.

An evaluation module (EVM) is available to test the ADS5295 under a variety of conditions. The ADS5295EVM can be purchased today for US$299. An IBIS model to verify board signal integrity requirements is also available.


Availability and pricing
The ADS5295 is available now in an 80-pin HTQFP package for a suggested retail price of US$70 in quantities of 1,000.

Optimized analog products and full portfolio for imaging applications
The ADS5295 joins the ADS529x family, which includes the 14-bit ADS5294 and 12-bit ADS5292. These devices offer eight channels at 80 MSPS, with 77-dBFS and 72-dBFS performance, respectively.
