University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Transforms Talent Management Processes with Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud

Oracle Press Release

University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Transforms Talent Management Processes with Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud

Leading Health Science Educator Improves Controls and Cuts Compensation Approval Time by 50 Percent with Oracle Talent Management Cloud

Redwood Shores, Calif. – January 7, 2015

News Summary

The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) educates more healthcare professionals than any other health-related institution in Texas. With a growing network of clinical and teaching hospitals, UTHealth needed to supplement its core human resources system with solutions to improve talent management and reduce manual processes. The institution implemented Oracle Human Capital Management Cloud to provide an easy-to-use system for employees, school administrators, the human resources department, and IT.

News Facts

University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), the most comprehensive academic health science center in the UT system and home to schools of biomedical informatics, biomedical sciences, dentistry, medicine, nursing, and public health, implemented Oracle Talent Management Cloud, part of Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud, to help manage talent and compensation in conjunction with its core human resources system, Oracle’s PeopleSoft HCM.
UTHealth needed to automate its manual merit recommendation and approval processes to make better use of the compensation team’s time, accelerate the approval process for workforce compensation, improve controls and visibility, and reduce manual processes, thereby saving time that could be directed to more strategic initiatives.
The compensation team previously needed to reconcile approximately 100 spreadsheets to confirm employee eligibility for salary increases, and data entry typically took at least one month. To address these challenges, UTHealth implemented Oracle Talent Management Cloud, Oracle Compensation Cloud, and Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence. By using Oracle Talent Management Cloud for compensation, the team now can complete a compensation review cycle in as few as two weeks.
In addition to reducing compensation approval cycle time, the Oracle HCM Cloud solutions enabled UTHealth to give school administrators higher levels of transparency into merit recommendations, which enabled them to make more informed compensation decisions.
UTHealth plans to expand its use of Oracle Compensation Cloud for incentive plan management and implement Oracle Learn Cloud to help provide learning and development programs for its 5,000 employees.
UTHealth worked with KBACE Technologies, a Platinum level member of Oracle PartnerNetwork, to implement Oracle HCM Cloud.

“Our data entry team had to manually key in approximately 4,000 salary increase transactions into our existing Oracle’s PeopleSoft applications—with the entire process taking at least a month,” said Krishna Kadiyala, director, employee services and HR technology, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. “Using Oracle HCM Cloud we are now able to automatically populate salary increase information into PeopleSoft HCM, thereby drastically cutting our manual processes, and improving the system for the entire organization, from senior administrators to our data entry team.”
“We are committed to helping organizations such as UTHealth improve its processes so it can focus on its main goal of education,” said Cole Clark, global vice president of education and research, Oracle. “We look forward to continuing to work with UTHealth in its move to the cloud, creating a comprehensive talent management solution.”

Accenture Expands Its Salesforce.com Global Delivery Capabilities and Skills to Capitalize on Demand for Cloud Solutions

Press release:

May 22, 2012
Accenture Expands Its Salesforce.com Global Delivery Capabilities and Skills to Capitalize on Demand for Cloud Solutions
Establishes Accenture Innovation Center for Salesforce.com in London

LONDON; May 22, 2012 -- Accenture (NYSE: ACN) is expanding its alliance relationship with salesforce.com and accelerating its market-leading position by ramping up its global workforce, enhancing its skills training and certification program, and launching new Cloud Centers of Excellence in the United States and Canada, and in the UK and France later this year.  These locations will build on the already substantial capabilities of Accenture’s global network of delivery centers in China, India and the Philippines.

Accenture also announced the opening of the Accenture Innovation Center for salesforce.com in London.  The new center will serve as a showcase location for Accenture and salesforce.com to bring to life new solutions and prototypes based on innovative implementation approaches and to demonstrate the tremendous client value the two companies can jointly deliver.  These announcements were made at Cloudforce London 2012.

“Accenture and salesforce.com are taking our alliance to a new level as we continue to see significant new opportunities,” said Paul Daugherty, chief technology architect at Accenture.  “Over the past two years we have seen tremendous growth in our software as a service (SaaS) business.  Salesforce.com represents the largest share of our SaaS business and we’re seeing more cloud-enabled transformation programs in the pipeline than ever, increasingly connected to the social enterprise.  As a result, we are expanding our delivery capabilities to bring innovative solutions at scale to our enterprise clients who are increasingly demanding salesforce.com apps and platforms.”

Salesforce.com has recognized Accenture as having the largest dedicated practice of any global service provider and today’s announcements are an important step for Accenture to drive even greater growth.  To facilitate the planned expansion in capabilities and headcount, Accenture and salesforce.com are working together to develop a proprietary, accelerated workforce training and certification program.  This new program builds on the in-house salesforce.com training capability first established by Accenture in 2009.

“As the shift to the social enterprise continues to accelerate, our strategic partnership with Accenture is increasingly important to help customers transform themselves to thrive in this social revolution,” said George Hu, chief operating officer, salesforce.com. “Since launching our vision for the social enterprise, Accenture has become the leading provider in our largest transformational projects. In this next phase of our relationship, Accenture will rapidly scale its delivery capacity to address global demand from companies who want to become social enterprises.”

As part of this strategic relationship, the two companies will also invest in joint activities to accelerate the delivery of Salesforce solutions in the enterprise market, including:

·         Closer R&D cooperation in rapidly developing areas including social collaboration, digital marketing and analytics, with direct links between salesforce.com product development teams and Accenture Technology Labs.
·         Development of architecture frameworks, delivery methods and implementation tools to support increased efficiencies in the delivery of enterprise-level projects.
·         Co-development of social enterprise™ vision and roadmap development capabilities, including continued support of the Accenture Enterprise Social Media Innovation Center in San Jose.  At its core, Accenture is creating an experimental environment to identify, develop and test ideas and approaches that further enhance the value of the social enterprise and social collaboration technologies including Salesforce Chatter.
As evidence of its leadership, Accenture was named a leader by Forrester Research in their report: “The Forrester Wave™: Salesforce.com Implementation, Q2 2011,” having rated Accenture against 46 levels of capability across three categories – current offering, strategy and market presence.
