PHOENIX -- Avnet Electronics Marketing, an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), is now shipping the production-grade ZedBoard, the industry’s first development kit to offer production silicon of the Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLX) Zynq®-7000 All Programmable (AP) SoC.

The production-grade ZedBoard offers more than 50 improvements over the original CES – or Commercial temp range, Engineering Sample -- grade development kit, including: secure boot, faster SD card boot-up, system clock reset improvements, DDR functional updates, more accurate static power estimates, eliminating single and double bit errors, and a more reliable Ethernet TxDMA. Originally released in July 2012, the original CES Zedboard kit sold out in a mere nine months and has now been replaced with the production-grade version. ZedBoard is ideal for designers interested in exploring and prototyping their application ideas for the Zynq-7000 AP SoC architecture.
