SAP Extends Its More Than 10 Year Lead in Supply Chain Management Rankings
SAP NEWSBYTE - SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced it has retained its position as the overall leader in worldwide supply chain management (SCM) according to the recent "Gartner, Market Share Analysis: Supply Chain Management Software, Worldwide, 2012" report*, gaining one percent of market share in 2012. The report also found that SAP retained its market leadership position in the supply chain planning (SCP) sub-solution category with 27.9 percent market share and grew faster than the market. In the supply chain execution (SCE) category, SAP was ranked No. 2 in terms of market share and grew by 26.4 percent year over year.
The report also found that in 2012, the aggregate supply chain management (SCM) application market experienced very good growth, despite a slowdown driven by currency effects. The 2012 SCM application market grew 7.1 percent in U.S. dollars, despite continued scrutiny of IT budgets.
Following this news, Gartner also released its list of The Gartner Supply Chain Top 25 for 2013 on May 22, 2013. SAP is the vendor of choice for 22 of the top supply chains included within the report.
