The increasing availability of data intelligence and data monitoring technology has played a large role in helping the manufacturing industry rapidly evolve its assembly processes to ensure top product quality and real-time results. Every phase of the manufacturing cycle can be closely monitored through the Internet of Things (IoT) and has led various customers to closely examine their own cycles and identify where they can adopt new technologies and services to help increase their productivity excellence. In fact, Gartner forecasts that from an industry perspective, manufacturing, utilities and transportation will be the top three verticals using IoT in 2015; altogether, they will have 736 million connected things in use.
