Progressive Selects Accenture Duck Creek Software to Support Property and Casualty Commercial Lines and Drive New Growth

Implementing modern policy and rating system will accelerate development and launch of innovative new products and services, improve customer interactions

NEW YORK; April 29, 2015 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) announced that The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies (“Progressive”) has selected Accenture Duck Creek's policy and rating software to support its property and casualty commercial lines business and serve as a foundational platform for growth. Progressive is turning to Accenture Duck Creek software’s unique product configuration toolset and comprehensive functionality to facilitate rapid product deployment and improve customer service and operational excellence by providing a common platform for policy, underwriting and rating.

Progressive’s goal is to make it easier to do business with its independent agents and customers. To accomplish that, Accenture Duck Creek will provide Progressive with a “single point of change” for managing product and business rules across its online, agency and call center channels. The new platform will also allow Progressive customers to access their information through their preferred channel.

“Delivering innovative products and services to our customers and agents is what drives us. Getting new solutions to market quickly, with quality and consistency across all customer and agent touch points is the primary focus of our platform modernization effort,” said John Barbagallo, Progressive’s Commercial Lines President. “Accenture Duck Creek is aligned with the business direction we are pursuing and offers the configuration, product design and rating engine we feel is best able to handle our business needs now and in the years to come.”

“As an industry leader and innovator, Progressive is focused on utilizing advanced technology to create an environment that is conducive to its ‘ease-of-use’ business approach that is welcomed by customers and agents,” said Michael A. Jackowski, global managing director, Accenture Duck Creek. “Our policy, rating, and product configuration software will provide Progressive with the functionality and system flexibility to bring new products to market quickly and deliver exceptional customer service.”

Accenture Duck Creek Policy and Rating are two of the core components in the suite of software that also includes billing and claims solutions. Each component can be implemented independently or combined for an integrated approach to manage all aspects of the P&C insurance lifecycle. Value can be attained via on-premise software or Duck Creek on demand, a Software as a Service model.
