September 09, 2015
Cerner Singapore and the National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Computing today jointly announced a certification course in health care informatics leadership. The five-day course, Nov. 2-6, will be administered by the NUS School of Computing’s Centre for Health Informatics.
The course will provide the region’s senior health care leaders with an opportunity for certification and a deeper understanding of the importance of informatics in driving improved clinical outcomes and operational efficiencies in care delivery.
“Cerner is delighted to join NUS to develop this unique opportunity for senior health care executives to collaborate and exchange best practices,” said Rebecca LaNasa, managing director, Cerner Southeast Asia. “Leaders will gain advanced knowledge of how health care informatics and technology can be leveraged as an enabler to support new models of care delivery and clinical transformation.”
Throughout the week, health care professionals will learn new approaches to engage clinical teams, enhance clinical operations through adoption of information technology, leverage big data to improve care processes and outcomes, and learn best practices from global health care informatics and clinical governance models.
For 22 years, Cerner has had a presence in Southeast Asia, and Cerner Millennium electronic health record solutions are installed in Singapore and Malaysia. Building on its industry-leading clinical technology expertise and vast global experience, Cerner works to identify new and innovative ways to deliver value to its clients.
“Health care informatics is reshaping the entire industry and we are pleased to collaborate with Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, to keep senior health care professionals knowledgeable on the latest developments and tools in the industry,” said Professor Alex Siow, director of the Centre of Health Informatics at the NUS School of Computing.
“We are confident this certificate course will equip health care professionals in the region with the necessary skills to take advantage of health care informatics to develop new ways of delivering health care to achieve better patient care and satisfaction,” Siow added.
