Oracle Buys Assets of Skire

Adds Leading Cloud-based and On-premise Capital Program Management and Facilities Management Applications to Oracle Primavera Project Portfolio Management

Oracle today announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire substantially all of the assets of Skire, a leading provider of capital program management and facilities management applications available both in the cloud and on-premise.

Skire’s software provides a complete set of management and governance tools across all project phases from planning and building to operations, enabling companies to efficiently manage their capital and construction programs.

By combining Skire with industry leading capabilities from Oracle Primavera products, Oracle intends to create a full lifecycle Enterprise Project Portfolio Management (EPPM) platform that provides a comprehensive offering from capital planning and construction to operations and maintenance for owners and operators, contractors and sub-contractors.

The combination is expected to help organizations manage their projects with more predictability and financial control, improving profitability and operational efficiency.

SAP AG (NYSE: SAP) today announced a social sabbatical program as an innovative learning opportunity for SAP employees to contribute their time and talent to helping entrepreneurs and small businesses in emerging markets. Small teams of select high-potential SAP employees will bring their specific expertise in areas such as strategy, marketing, IT, finance, consulting or legal to nonprofit organizations, government agencies or educational institutions to help solve pressing business or organizational issues. The pilot phase begins in Brazil in July and will be followed by assignments in India and South Africa in October.

The short-term sabbatical assignment will provide a unique opportunity for SAP employees to hone their leadership skills, deepen cultural knowledge and connect with other emerging leaders from around the world. The new program will complement the myriad education offerings available to all SAP employees, which form the foundation for a career of continuous learning and development.

Dell and Red Hat, Inc.
