Accenture Named a Leader in Business-to-Business Global Commerce Service Provider Report by Independent Research Firm
NEW YORK; March 9, 2015 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has been named a leader among global business-to-business (B2B) commerce service providers by Forrester Research Inc., a leading industry analyst firm.
In the report titled, “The Forrester Wave™: B2B Global Commerce Service Providers, Q1 2015”, Forrester evaluates companies against criteria across three categories: current offering, strategy and market presence. Accenture Digital received the highest scores in current offering and market presence and ranked second in strategy.
The report states: “With the acquisition of Acquity Group and a now-explicit focus on ‘digitalizing’ the whole enterprise, Accenture Digital has carved out particularly strong offerings in commerce selection, data management and strategy but is also solid across a broad range of functions.”
Accenture acquired Acquity Group in 2013 to strengthen its capabilities in digital strategy and interactive marketing services provided through Accenture Interactive.
The report further notes that Accenture Digital is “actively investing in its innovation lab function, building out eCommerce accelerators and growing a promising analytics practice” and also that their clients “indicate that the firm possesses deep experience in the B2B space and is effective at managing project scope.”
Anatoly Roytman, global managing director of Digital Commerce, Accenture Interactive, said: “The days when B2B commerce was defined by customers leafing through print catalogues and calling sales representatives are over. B2B commerce is driven by consumer shopping habits and opportunities to rally around the customers on digital channels in a concerted omni-channel approach. Accenture Interactive offers the full spectrum of digital technology capabilities, industry expertise, global scale and leading solutions partners needed to successfully manage this transformation of the business customer experience.”
The expectations of B2B buyers have shifted toward deeper omni-channel experiences and more than 80 percent of companies are already planning technology investments to upgrade their e-commerce platforms and yield richer omni-channel strategies, based on research from Accenture and hybris.
Accenture has also been named a leader in “The Forrester Wave™: B2C Global Commerce Service Providers, Q1 2015”. The report states that Accenture “offers the full stack of services ranging from back-office expertise to customer-facing front-end capabilities.”
