Industry Analyst Quote:

Robert Amatruda, Research Director, Data Protection and Recovery, IDC
"Customers are increasingly deploying Purpose Built Backup Appliance (PBBA) solutions to control their spiraling data protection capital and operational expenditures as well as help them simplify their backup environment. The leading data protection vendors have recognized the importance of tighter integration of PBBA solutions with backup application software enabling more efficient management and control of complex user backup requirements."

EMC Executive Quote:

William "BJ" Jenkins, President, EMC Backup Recovery Systems Division
"The combination of backup software and appliances offers a powerful set of capabilities that, as this report reflects, are resonating strongly with users globally. Software-only approaches simply can't offer the performance, scalability and flexibility that users require, and they are quickly realizing that they must evaluate backup software and appliance decisions holistically--as an end-to-end solution--to truly transform their backup and recovery. EMC is differentiating itself within the industry by deeply integrating its backup appliances with its own backup software, as well as with a significantly broader set of enterprise applications and third party backup software than any other vendor."
