Lockheed Martin to Hold Twelfth Annual Information Technology Day in Kennewick, Wash. on May 9


Free community networking event to focus on IT innovation and feature speakers, panels, demonstrations, vendor expo and job fair
KENNEWICK, Wash., April 25, 2012 – Lockheed Martin [NYSE: LMT] will host the twelfth annual Information Technology (IT) Day at the Three Rivers Convention Center on May 9 to increase IT education and awareness, as well as to encourage networking and collaboration in industry, academia and the community. The day-long event, which runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is free of charge and open to the public.
The 2012 IT Day theme is “The Power of Information” and will feature an expanded agenda for the thousands of people expected to attend. Educational sessions will be held on topics such as business collaboration via cyber security, mobility, cloud computing and big data.  Speakers include industry experts from Lockheed Martin, the U.S. Department of Energy, Sprint, Cisco, Intel and Microsoft.
“We are delighted to produce this event for the Tri-Cities again this year,” said Kyle Willers, program director and general manager, Lockheed Martin.  “IT Day is a unique event in Eastern Washington and Oregon that makes an incredible impact on the community and helps advance the overall IT field. I strongly encourage everyone to come out to the convention center because there’s just so much to learn!”
The IT Day luncheon will feature a keynote address by Stephen S. Pawlowski, senior fellow ofIntel Corporation, where he is chief technology officer for the Datacenter and Connected Systems Group and general manager for Datacenter and Connected Systems Pathfinding. Pawlowski will discuss Intel’s vision on the rapid evolution of cloud computing and big data analytics and the resulting challenges and opportunities in cyber security and energy consumption. Luncheon tickets can be purchased for $15 and are expected to sell out in advance of the event.
A vendor expo will be open throughout the day, showcasing technology and services from more than 60 local and national IT vendors and academic partners. The expo provides a unique opportunity to network and exchange information in a collaborative setting. Attendees visiting every vendor booth during the event will be rewarded with a commemorative token from the event. Additionally, an entertaining robot named Sprockit will make an appearance again this year to provide a light-hearted connection to technology innovation.
