About Rex Restaurant Associates
Rex Restaurant Associates was set up by Chris Corbin and Jeremy King in 2003, when they introduced the highly popular all-day dining European Grand Café concept to London with The Wolseley restaurant on Piccadilly, achieving one of the highest turnovers of any individual restaurant in the UK. In December 2011, The Delaunay, a Grand Café with a mittel-European slant, opened on the corner of Aldwych and Drury Lane to high critical acclaim. It has been the most successful of Corbin and King’s openings to date in terms of revenue. Brasserie Zedel is due to open at the end of June 2012, just off Piccadilly Circus, and Colbert will open on Sloane Square in early autumn 2012. In 2006 they opened St Alban on Regent Street, selling the lease in 2009. That same year, they were involved in the opening of New York’s Monkey Bar. Prior to launching Rex Restaurant Associates, Corbin and King owned and managed some of London’s most famous restaurants, including Le Caprice (1981), The Ivy (1990) and J Sheekey 1997), under the umbrella of Caprice Holdings, which they sold in 1998, staying on as directors until 2002.
