(NYSE: AVT), a leading global technology distributor, recently received the Distributor of the Year for Semiconductor Products in the Americas from Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. The award was based on sales records for the fiscal year ending March 31. This is the second time in five years that Avnet’s superior sales performance has earned it Distributor of the Year honors from Vishay.
Vishay Intertechnology, a leading manufacturer of passive and discrete semiconductor products, is one of Avnet’s longest running franchise relationships. In 2013, the two companies celebrated their milestone 50thyear doing of business together. Vishay signed Avnet as a distributor just one year after the company was formed in 1962 to bring its patented Bulk Metal® foil resistors to market. Today the two companies work to bring Vishay’s state-of-the-art discrete semiconductors, optoelectronics, integrated modules, and passive components to Avnet’s broad customer base around the globe.
