F5 Announces Winners of 2012 Agility Customer and Partner Awards

MLB Network, Rackspace Hosting, and Future Com, Ltd. named 2012 Agility award winners

This year’s winners include MLB Network, Rackspace Hosting^®, and Future Com, Ltd. The awards were announced during F5’s Agility Summit 2012, taking place July 23–25 in New York.

2012 F5 Agility Awards: Customers

MLB Network and Rackspace Hosting have been named winners of the 2012 F5 Agility Awards for customers.

• MLB Network

MLB Network is Major League Baseball’s national cable television network, telecasting live games and original studio programming to approximately 70 million homes throughout the U.S. and Puerto Rico. MLB Network relies on F5 technology to support marquee events, including All-Star Games and the World Series, providing load balancing services and securing connections to MLB Network’s internal environment. Rackspace Hosting is a service leader in cloud computing. Given that many of Rackspace’s customers have both dedicated managed hosting and cloud hosting environments, Rackspace aimed to create a solution that bridged both environments. With the help of F5’s Application Delivery Networking platform, Rackspace developed a hybrid service called RackConnect™. With RackConnect, customers receive the performance and security of dedicated hosted servers, while allowing customers the flexibility to “jump” to the cloud to scale an application when needed. Using BIG-IP LTM and F5’s iControl^® functionality, Rackspace was able to reduce the development time of RackConnect to only three months.
