Avnet Technology Solutions UK Partners with DataCore Software to Become a Solutions Aggregator

Bracknell, UK -- Avnet Technology Solutions, the global IT solutions distribution leader and an operating group of Avnet, Inc. (NYSE: AVT), has signed an agreement with DataCore Software Corp. in the UK to provide hosted storage hypervisor and storage virtualisation solutions. Avnet will take on the role of a solutions aggregator providing business partners with the ability to deploy DataCore and offer customers a hosted storage virtualisation solution on a monthly subscription basis. In addition Avnet will provide billing support to its partners and continue to distribute and support all Datacore products including SANSymphony-V.
Laura Harman, sales director, Avnet Technology Solutions UK, explained, "As more and more organisations realize the performance and productivity advantages of virtualisation, plus the benefits of hosted solutions and cloud computing, the demand for storage as a managed service continues to grow. Avnet has strong relationships with many of the traditional hosting and solutions configuration companies, and this partnership with Datacore opens the door to managed service providers (MSPs) and systems integrators looking to develop hosted, managed service offerings."
As the market for private and hybrid cloud solutions matures, Avnet continues to build its portfolio of converged infrastructure and integrated solutions. Avnet Cloud-in-a-Box, for example, provides business partners with the ability to deliver a pre-configured private cloud solution for application development and testing using a monthly subscription pricing model. This new agreement with Datacore presents an opportunity for business partners to increase revenue by providing services on a subscription basis and overcome capital expenditure budgetary issues.

Avnet sees this agreement with Datacore as a means for specialist business partners currently offering private cloud solutions to diversify into public and hybrid cloud offerings. It will enable partners to broaden and deepen customer relationships by adding value and will provide them with the opportunity to generate incremental storage, networking and server sales as part of the service.
