Oracle Press Release
Groupe Dynamite Sets Foundation for Expansion with Oracle Retail Solutions
Fast Fashion Retailer Moves Quickly Toward Single View of Inventory, Customers, and Operations to Enable Commerce Anywhere
ORACLE INDUSTRY CONNECT, BOSTON – March 26, 2014
News Summary
As retailers expand across channels, brands and borders, having a single view of inventory and customers is critical to driving profitable growth. That’s why Groupe Dynamite has deployedOracle Retail solutions to support an international expansion strategy through which it plans to double its business within five years. The move to Oracle Retail establishes a scalable, flexible platform for retail operations supporting its popular Garage and Dynamite brands worldwide.
News Facts
Groupe Dynamite, a 300-store fast fashion women’s apparel retailer operating the Garage and Dynamite brands in North America and the Middle East, deployed Oracle Retail solutions for its merchandising, e-commerce, store operations and financial inventory management.
The Oracle Retail systems, part of a major IT upgrade, will provide the retailer with a single, cross-channel view of its inventory and enable commerce anywhwere capabilities that are critical to Groupe Dynamite’s goal to double its business within the next five years.
In February 2014, the company completed a comprehensive implementation of its retail operations with Oracle Commerce, Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics, and Oracle Retail Stores Solutions.
Underlying these applications is Oracle SOA Suite, which Groupe Dynamite is using to streamline real-time messaging processes.
The move to Oracle Retail removes limitations inherent to maintaining legacy IT systems on four replicated – but not identical – platforms, and enables Groupe Dynamite to manage a more scalable and efficient business environment.
Benefits extend to the retailer’s merchandising and e-commerce operations, where taking advantage of capabilities within Oracle Commerce will enable shoppers to use a shared shopping cart for Garage and Dynamite purchases.
Groupe Dynamite also plans to use the Oracle Retail solution, to enable their store associates and customers alike, to check inventory levels online for products, sizes, and styles at their preferred store location.
The reporting and analytics capabilities of the Oracle Retail solutions will be crucial to Groupe Dynamite’s aggressive expansion plans. The intuitive visual presentations provided by Oracle Retail Merchandising Analytics, which uses color codes to indicate which stores in a given territory are under or over comp levels, can save business users time previously spent reviewing long reports and can make it immediately apparent what action is recommended.
In addition, having one view of its inventory and one global tool to manage it, simplifies and increases accuracy of allocation and replenishment across locations and channels.

“Oracle Retail provides us with the technology to grow our brands and our business,” said Michel Joncas, Vice President of Information Technology, Groupe Dynamite. “As we open more stores and add partners, having everyone on the same platform and with a single view of our inventory helps us optimize operations to give better service to our customers.”
“A lot of our customers like both of our brands, so the flexibility to move back and forth and put items from both sites into one cart provides us with a competitive advantage,” adds Joncas. “Oracle brings us improved visibility for new items, fashion and outfits. As we seek to enhance mobility offerings and customer loyalty initiatives, we now have the architecture and the platform to do those things.”
