EMC Recognized by Dow Jones and CDP for Commitment to Sustainability
Worldwide IT Leader Recognized for Climate Change Transparency
HOPKINTON, MASS. , SEPTEMBER 25, 2014 -
EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) announced that it has been recognized as a leader among S&P 500 companies by the environmental non-profit group, CDP, for the depth and quality of the climate change data disclosed to investors and the global marketplace. For the sixth time, EMC has been included in the Climate Disclosure Leadership Index (CDLI) for its leadership in the quality of climate change disclosures.
In addition, for the fourth consecutive year, EMC has been selected as an index component of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) North America as a result of its ongoing progress on sustainability initiatives.

CDP S&P 500 CLIMATE DISCLOSURE LEADERSHIP INDEX
EMC, earning a score of 100, achieved a position in the S&P 500 2014 CDLI, which spotlights companies listed on the Standard and Poor’s 500 Index (S&P 500) that have demonstrated a high level of transparency and data quality in their disclosure of information regarding climate change. High disclosure scores indicate the provision of robust climate data and a good understanding of corporate climate-related issues. The index includes companies in the top 10 percent for disclosure scores, and EMC is one of sixty-three S&P 500 companies featured in the 2014 CDLI.
DOW JONES SUSTAINABILITY INDEX
For the fourth consecutive year, EMC has been selected as a component of the DJSI North America, thanks to its focus on sustainability initiatives. The RobecoSAM Corporate Sustainability Assessment is an in-depth analysis of a corporation’s economic, environmental, governance, and social platform.
The DJSI follow a best-in-class approach, including companies across all industries that outperform their peers in numerous sustainability metrics. RobecoSAM invites more than 3,000 publicly traded companies, including 800 companies in emerging markets, to report annually on their sustainability practices.
