Recently, a good friend of mine complained she had lost all her contacts and photos. "Oh, what happened" I asked. "I went to the operator's shop and they told me my phone could not be repaired. I bought a new one, but I'm so sad I lost all contacts and photos" she answered. "Give it to me, I'll try whatever I can" I replied.
To be honest, I wasn't really sure I'd manage to do much, but I thought anyway it would be good experience. The phone was indeed bricked. It would not go beyond the boot logo, was not recognized by Linux, Windows nor Kies (Samsung's application). The SD card alone refused to mount on Linux.
